Molly Dyson (Captain), Sophie Rowland (Vice-Captain), Lucy Wright, Elizabeth Kilminster, Ella Wood, Nancy Odile, Tabitha Severs and Megan Tooley, were the first pupils from St. Bede's to represent the school in a National Final. The girls not only represented their school, but also South Tyneside and County Durham. Despite missing 3 key players, the team gave a wonderful account of themselves on the day, where they managed to beat some of the best teams in England. We also lost some close games that went dramatically to the final ball, showing the exciting potential of this young group of players.
The team spirit of this team has been a particular feature throughout the season. When the girls lost a few games, their support for each other was still unwavering and resolute, which was very admirable to witness. They laughed and smiled throughout the day and were determined to enjoy the whole occasion, while still playing determined cricket. Once again, even with a 200 mile round trip, the support from family members was superb and positive.
Thank you to the talented young girls who took on the best Y6 players in England, without ever taking a backward step. I was extremely proud of how you represented your school, and you should be equally proud of what you have achieved.
